Point of View™ is working with the Cohen Foundation to host the 2008 Peaceable Community Festival to commemorate the Independence Day of India. On August 15, 2008 students, teachers, parents, community members, and people from around the city will come together to celebrate the Independence of India and its people from colonial rule.

But the fight still remains for people in India as violence, poverty, hunger and social injustice separates communities and destroy innocent lives. Point of View, in cooperation with CF, is working to continue the peace process by screening films for peace, justice, and equality. We are inviting filmmakers and producers from around the world to share their production in our 2008 festival in Madurai, Tamil Nadu India. Every event and program at the Festival will be offered free of cost to every guest as we welcome in a new Independence from violence and continue the progress towards peace.
